Priceline Hotel: 2* Jamestown Days Inn

Booked through the PRICELINE link on this page. Made an opening bid of $46 and won one night at the Jamestown Days Inn 2* for Sat, Jun 25, 2011.

I hope I'm not being out of order bay adding the next part.

Got a king, but was put in a smoking room. Whole town was just about sold out, so I had to lump it.

I know that Priceline states, "Priceline requests that our hotel partners provide non-smoking rooms to our Name Your Own Price

Sorry to hear you received a Smoking room, but given the tight demand around town, it sounds like that may have been all the hotel had available. Hotels often book rooms 'run of house' meaning that they'll be assigned based upon what's available at check-in, since this gives them flexibility in meeting the requests of those who book direct (at full price) and may require a specific room type. Unfortunately it appears that there were no non-smoking rooms available when you tried to check-in.

Thankfully this was just a one nite stay and, at least for non-smokers, more and more hotels and chains are going towards a smoke free room policy.
