Rajeev Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Hi, I am newbie to the bidding hotels online. How do we start bidding and how are offers made? Are there any hidden costs? What are chances of getting accommodations in 80-90$ in the Boston-Copley Square during August 29-Sept 4?Please guide !!!Thanks
thereuare Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the moment i don't think $90 for a 3* or better will be enough for your dates. Boston is a 'college heavy' area and there may be a LOT of freshman arriving with their parents during these dates to move into school. At the moment i'm guessing you're likely looking at ~$140-$160 for a 4* and ~$125 for a 3*.What is the best rate you're able to find thru traditional booking channels?Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Rajeev Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Normal price online is around 135-170, so i guess, if I get anything even for 100 is fine . .but can't afford more than that due to weak financial situation.
Rajeev Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Can you please also let me know the trip cancellation policy? How it works and is it worth to buy one?
AaronJB Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 The travel insurance policy is for larger issues (such as issues that require a doctor's note as proof.) The policy does not offer the ability to change for reasons such as deciding not to go on the trip, not being happy with the hotel you get, etc. I'd recommend reading the fine print.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 What do you want to try first... a 4* hotel up to your $100 limit... or do you prefer to try for a 3.5* (or 3*) up to your limit in hopes of a lower price for lower (than 4*) hotel? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Rajeev Posted July 6, 2011 Author Report Posted July 6, 2011 Anything is fine with me. Even if I get 3* for 100 is good. I tried all possible combinations and nothing is available after bidding for several days.
thereuare Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Is Copley the only zone you're willing to accept? There are other centrally located 'downtown' zones which typically work fine for the average user, and including more zones gives more hotels the opportunity to accept your bid. Does Quincy Market not work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click this PRICELINE link before replying.Thanks.
