WITTYTJ Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Hey I saw the site had a deal for Boston $69 for a 4 star hotel in Boston as part of one of their "4 star hotels under $99" deal.I clicked on this link for a 1 room on July 1 into July 2. It came back and said they could not find that deal and to try something else. How can they pull this? It was advertised so if they no longer have it why not take down the advertisement?Anyway, I tried again and was locked out and said I can bid 24hrs later. My question is will I have any luck tomorrow trying this advertised bid? Or any luck possibly the day before or of?Thanks,TJ
thereuare Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE doesn't own or allocate hotel room inventory, if you read the ad closely it is only showing that a customer recently purchased a hotel in the Boston area for $69, not that they have an unlimited number of rooms to sell at this price. As well, they may still have rooms available at this price, but not for your specific date. It's certainly possible that the hotel in question could make more deeply discounted inventory available for the nite you need, but i wouldn't rely on it.Is this the only zone you're willing to accept in the area? What is your maximum bid for this stay? You could bid again immediately by using re-bid zones (if you're not familiar with re-bidding see re.bi but it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you don't use your re-bid zones until you confirm them with the board)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. WITTYTJ Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 the highest I will go is 75 in that zone or copley zone.
WITTYTJ Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 the highest I will go is 75 in that zone or copley zone. I mean I really don't care I just don't want to end up in a dumpy area. I live close to Boston and just want a cheap nice place to take the missus for a night out on the town.
thereuare Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Have you seen the Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread and understand how to determine your re-bid zones? If not successful at $75 or less will simply not stay overnite in the city? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
