This hotel is listed as a 4* in Palm Beach Gardens - North Palm Beach Area....it's amenities are Resot, Non-Smoking, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-Speed Internet, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spas Services. I am pretty positive this is the PGA National Resort and Spa.

This hotel was listed at $107 on hotwire (with the best value/super savings tags) and $159 on pga resort website for the nights we wanted. I noticed it says there is a possible $30 per day per person resort fee! But we were concerned about the resort fee, so I called the PGA Resort.

The woman in reservations basically confirmed that this was the PGA Resort and Spa Hotwire listing. She said there were no other hotels in the vicinity with those amenities and 4 stars. I did see a bunch of people in the past asking about this hotel, so it's not a 100% official confirmation, but it's pretty close to one imo.

So I asked her about the resort fee and if it was per person and per night as the fine print on hotwire stated. She told me no, it was $25 per room per night. However, she then told me they were running a special, but it was through phone reservations only. $89 a night, resort fee and buffet breakfast (with gratuity) for one included! $104 a night if you want buffet breakfast for two!!!!!

We were sold. I was about to purchase this on hotwire, but instead we got this for even less and extra incentives as well! The girl in reservations told me to always call the hotel directly first and ask. A lot of times they do have cheaper fares on the phone than on the web. I was shocked!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my story as a heads up for everyone to try calling a hotel first! I'll update and post how our stay is after we go.

Ok - here is my hotel review -

- the hotel itself was great. It was clean and comfy. We got an upgrade without paying for it, so that was nice. Very kid friendly.

- the pool area was especially kid friendly. My 2 yr old and 1 yr old loved the slow inclined entrance to the pool and we played in the shallow end for quite some time. We met other guests with little ones as well

- the food pricing didn't always make sense. For example, they had an all you can eat buffet by the pool with hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken etc....for $15 a person, but their breakfast was $22.50 a person and was pretty much a standard eggs, potatos, cereal and fruit buffet.

- definitely double check the bill. They tried to charge us for parking each night even though it was included in the room price. Once we showed them they claimed it was a computer mistake and they would fix it. They also tried to charge us for the breakfast that was included in our room price....apparently the same computer mistake - lol - that's how I know how much they charge for breakfast.

- Our room was upgraded to a pool view room. We were on the ground level, so it was very convienent to go out to the pool and back to our room. However, the pool is NOT an upgrade!!!!! It was so noisy. We could hear ANYTHING and EVERYTHING from our room. the walls are paper thin. We could hear people going up and down the hallways too. Because it was a holiday weekend, they were playing really loud live music by the pool and they played a movie at the pool at night as well. Add in there were a bunch of baseball camps staying there, so there was like 100+ kids screaming and playing in the pool until closing at 11 pm. If it were just me and my husband we probably wouldn't care, but it was really difficult getting our kids to sleep for naptime and bedtime. We agreed next time we would request a garden view room. We did complain about the noise and they said they'd move us. but because we had already unpacked all the baby stuff we decided to stay put.

- The spa was very nice, I did not get a massage, I had my nails done. I did learn, if you want a manicure/pedicure to tell them specifically you want a manicue first, because the computer system will always book the pedicure first - no idea why.

- service in the restaurants was eh. Sometimes we'd get help immediately and sometimes not at all.

- The front desk staff is clueless. I asked the front desk if they had any hiking/walking trails. She handed me a map. I then said we had two little kids and we heard there were playgrounds, could she show me where on the map and was it walking distance. She showed me where they were, said one was really close but small and the other really nice and big but a little bit farther walk but that they were both walking distance. Well we walked about 15 minutes towards the bigger one with our two babies and there were no playgrounds in sight. We asked a drink golf cart lady, and she said it was definitely not walking distance. So we went back, got in our car and drove. It was 95+ outside, she wanted us to walk 3-4 miles each way carrying a 26 month old and a 12 month old????? We ended up driving to the smaller and closer playground, it was about 2 miles away. The bigger one was like 3-4 miles! WTF!!!!! Anyway, the so-called smaller one was HUGE. It had 3 slides, swings, a play set etc...she obviously doesn't have kids.

- The bathrooms and room itself was nice, spacious and clean. The bedding was comfortable too.

My overall ratings - 4 star

Service - 3.5 star

Food 3.5 star

Room - 4 star

Spa - 4 star

Amenities - 4.5 star

Pool - 4.5 star

Hope this review is helpful.
