nuxsmaniac Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Need suggestion on how to appoach on bidding strategy for upcoming family vacation in DisneylandNeed 1 nite for 2 room on July 3 - Jul 4, 2011 (friends from San Diego is coming to stay with us for one nite only)Need 3 nites for 1 room on July 4 to July 7, 2011Would preferred Disneyland North Area only but willing to consider Disneyland South if price is right. Hopefully not to exceed a budget of $58 a nite before tax. 3* and above preferred. Started bidding 1 nite only for 2 room on 3 stars disneyland north @$45 but got rejected. I am thinking of upping it to $50 tomorrow nite and hopefully it get accepted and move on to book another 3 nite with the accepted criteria. Does priceline usually offer extension for 2 nites only but not 3? Any other suggestions on how to appoach to bid on priceline for this specific scenario?I am a newbie on priceline bidding on rebid zone etc, any suggestion that I can make faster bid by changing zone safely rather than having to wait 24 hours. Ideally would like to get this booking done by this Friday nite. I will ensure I book thru the referral link in this forum. Thanks in advance for your help.
thereuare Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Does priceline usually offer extension for 2 nites only but not 3?When PRICELINE offers the 'extend your stay option' you can only extend the stay for up to the same number of nites as your original purchase. So if your original purchase is only for one nite, then you can only extend for one nite. As well, you must extend for the same number of rooms as your original purchase, so this doesn't look to be a good option for you for this stay (since you would only be looking to extend one of the two rooms of your original purchase)Any other suggestions on how to appoach to bid on priceline for this specific scenario?HOTWIRE recently initiated new 'extend your stay' type features... you could purchase one room for July 3-7 and then attempt to add one additional room for just the nite of July 3rd. This would seem to work well for your scenario above but note: 1) no guarantees you'll be successful when attempting to add the second room for the one nite (your first purchase could have consumed the last available room at the opaque rate... not very likely but possible) or 2) during busy times the hotel could have a minimum nite stay requirement and therefore not be available for purchase for just one nite. This too is more the exception then the rule, but just trying to outline possible 'what could go wrong' scenarios so less of a chance of something catching you by surprise.I am a newbie on priceline bidding on rebid zone etc, any suggestion that I can make faster bid by changing zone safely rather than having to wait 24 hours. If you start by looking for 3.5* then you'll have THREE re-bid zones available, if you're starting at 3* there are no re-bid zones available... see this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for information on how to determine your re-bid zones and, if you'll be trying for 3.5* first, confirm your re-bid zones with the board (or if you're still confused post back and we'll break it down further for you.Based upon the above let s know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases.
