BernieSadori Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 I'll be in the city for the first time this November 12th - 15th. The reason for my visit is to watch the University of Kentucky play at MSG. I'm looking for a 3* or better for around $150/night. If there is a nice 2.5* I would certainly take that as well for a lower initial bid. I would really like to stay in the MSG, Empire State Building, and Chelsea areas. Questions:Is it too early to get a good deal? What hotel do you believe I would end up with should my bid be accepted?Awesome board and thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and thanks for the compliments on the board :) )This is generally an expensive time of year in NYC and at the moment current prices do reflect the higher demand which hotels are anticipating (or already seeing with reservations on the books). At current rates I think $150 for a 3* may be a bit of a reach in the zones you're hoping for, but you could certainly give it a try. For further of 'when to bid' see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ.With PRICELINE there are no amenities shown before your purchase nor any other clues as to the hotel(s) currently available, so you could receive any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose... if you're looking to take a guess as to the property you may receive then HOTWIRE is a better, although slightly more expensive, option.Let us know if you'd like to begin bidding now (or when you're ready to begin bidding) and we'll have a look at current rates and suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
