Chibikim Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Im new to BetterBidding.com. I need your help! Im going to Toronto in a few weeks and I picked the hotel I want to win on Priceline, the Residence Inn. It has everything I want- a laundromat, and a nice little kitchenette. Its located in Downtown South. I know Priceline will not tell you the location or the name of the hotel, but what I would like to know is what kind of bidding should I make to get it? Its a *** hotel. Whats the average bidding amount for that hotel? Ill be in Toronto from July 19-24. Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)There is no way to ensure a particular property when bidding on PRICELINE. One of the trade-offs of the discounted rates the service offers is having to be willing to accept any property at the star rating you bid on in the zone you bid on. The Residence Inn has been reported in Downtown South at the 3* level; if you bid on the 3* level in that zone, for example, you have to be willing to accept any property at that star level in that zone (occasionally, you are upgraded to the next star level up, so a 3.5* hotel would also be a possibility.)If you are looking for a property with a kitchenette, I would recommend HOTWIRE, as you can look for a discounted HOTWIRE listing that offers the amenities you are looking for. However, as with PRICELINE, there is no way to ensure 100% a particular property with HOTWIRE.Are you only interested in the Residence, or would you be okay with other possibilities?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Chibikim Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 I would like the Residence, but if I cant get that, any 3* or 4* hotel will do. Either way I will be happy if it saves me some money! :)
thereuare Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Few more things we need to know in order to suggest a strategy for your needs...If you look at the PRICELINE zones, is Downtown North also acceptable or did you only want to bid Downtown South? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? So we don't suggest a strategy which goes more than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for this stay?Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Chibikim Posted June 27, 2011 Author Report Posted June 27, 2011 Downtown South is my preference. Im trying to stay within the 3.5* vs 3* range. Hope that gives you an idea of what im going for. I appreciate the help. I start bidding next friday and I want to make sure I do this right :)
