thefreematrix Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I'm looking for a Toronto hotel, Downtown, Sept 9-16 (can be slightly shorter if need be). I'm hoping to pay $85+taxes, but can go a bit higher... 4*, or potentially a good 3.5*.
thereuare Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 PRICELINE has TWO downtown zones in Toronto... Downtown North and Downtown zone, are both of these acceptable? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thefreematrix Posted June 25, 2011 Author Report Posted June 25, 2011 I think so... I think they are all fairly accessible...
thereuare Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 Based upon current prices at the moment i'm doubtful that your budget is close for a 4* property. You mention you might be able to go 'a bit higher' then your $85 limit for a 4* hotel, so we'll provide a strategy up to $100 but you can adjust a little more/less depending upon your 'true' budget. At the 4* level you have TEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown South...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown North...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $68, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $78, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown South and Downtown North...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $82, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $84, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $86, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $92, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $94, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $96, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. thefreematrix Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Posted June 28, 2011 Thank you so much. I'm guessing I'm bidding too low... Has anyone gotten it for under $100 for Sept? Maybe I'm not realistic.

Romelle Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Check the Calendar of Wins (just above on this page). Select Other Countries - Priceline, and choose your dates (or for that matter, two 14 day spans across almost all of September). When the results come up, you can further click on those to see the actual bids. Might also take a look at the Other Countries - Hotwire while you are in it. Romelle
thefreematrix Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Using the PRICELINE link from this board, I ended up bidding up to $102 and gave up. I ended up renting an apartment instead, which is cheaper.

I am still unclear why the prices are too high for September; it is much higher than July and August even though I think July and August are more touristy in Toronto. If you don't mind can you please share more information about the apartment you rented. Thanks
