franklin411 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 I was trying to fill the last night in my DC trip (7/28). HOTWIRE was pretty empty so I didn't have much guidance. I tried bidding up to $90 for a 3.5* in Dupont Circle, hoping to get the Marriott Wardman Park so it would be easy to change hotels to the Omni Shoreham on 7/29. I got a counteroffer of $110, but I didn't pursue it because I thought I was flirting with the Washington Hilton (very far from the Metro..uphill all the way). Instead I tried for a 4* in the hopes of getting the Omni. I bid $100 and got a counteroffer of $135, which I thought was the Shoreham (ID'd on HOTWIRE for $135). I bid $119, and got the Dupont Circle Hotel.Seems nice, but I'm a little bummed because I found the Shoreham on lastminutetravel for $126. It would have been nice not to have to move hotels and I only saved about $5 after fees and taxes.Used the PRICELINE links.
