smilinganddialing Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 First and foremost, this is a fantastic board. What a great resource. I am looking to go to San Antonio for a vacation from 7/9 to 7/12 and am seeing the following two options for the Riverwalk North Area that are in my price range:1. 3.5* (Fitness, Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet) showing with 3.5 out of 5 on TripAdvisor - I think this is the Wyndham St. Anthony. Does that seem right? It's available for $65/night on Chrome and $64/night on Firefox (odd to see price difference between browsers) and seems like an okay, somewhat rundown hotel.2. 3* (Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry (self service), High Speed Internet) with no TripAdvisor rating - this is the one I'm having trouble with as the Hotwire reviews rating is 3.5 out of 5 for Location but 4 out of 5 for cleanliness. Any thoughts on what this might be?Thank you for your help. I tried up to $60 per night (with multiple rebids and a start of $45/night) on Priceline for a 3.5* in Riverwalk but could not win one so I figured I'd go to Hotwire.

smilinganddialing Posted June 22, 2011 Author Report Posted June 22, 2011 Okay - I clicked on the HOTWIRE link in my messages. Now what happens? Sorry, I am new to this board.
thereuare Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Are you still seeing the 3.5* property on a current HOTWIRE search? I'm seeing a 3.5* property in this zone, but it has different amenities, and a different TA rating, then what you've posted above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. smilinganddialing Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 It changed to another 3.5* property with no TA rating but much better HW user ratings for $57/night - went ahead and booked. It was the Hotel Indigo at Riverwalk - kind of disappointed at how far away it is from the main area and is not really a 3.5* as per TA - it's a 3* according to TA.The amenities listed were: Fitness, Business Center, High Speed Internet (no Restaurant as with the previous one).
thereuare Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Sorry to hear this property isn't in the part of the zone that you had wanted, but hopefully you'll be able to make this work for your needs and you're pleased with the value for the price paid.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and helping us add this new amenity set for this property to the Hotwire Hotel List. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. smilinganddialing Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 My apologies to the board. I misread it - it is actually the Hotel Indigo at The Alamo so it is in the right area. Again, my apologies for the misread and mispost.Thank you for your help.
