After reviewing the montreal forum, I began with an initial bid of $82 for 4* in the old montreal region, which was accepted. I bid the day of my booking, Friday 17 June 2011.

After staying one night, I asked the hotel if I could stay another night at the same rate. They said no, and that a new booking over the phone would cost $169 a night! So I went back to priceline.

First bid:$70 4* (old montreal) REJECTED

Second bid:$75 4* (old montreal+Laval) REJECTED

*I knew there were no 4* hotels in Laval. I was trying to get the Hyatt Regency again by creeping up the price

Third Bid:$95 4* (old montreal) ACCEPTED

*The third attempt was made after waiting an hour. I didn't think I could return with a bid after reducing the potential areas, but it worked.
