We are a family of four (kids are both under 12) heading to NYC this week for two nights (June 22 and June 23). We would like a 4* or better in the city at the LOWEST possible cost. We are very flexbile about the area where we stay. Order of preference would probably be UWS, UES, CPS, MTE (but again we are open to anything). We could use either Priceline or Hotwire. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

The issue with using PRICELINE is that there is a strong chance with NYC that you would wind up with one bed. PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy, and there is a higher-than-average percentage of rooms with only one bed in NYC. The hotel may be unwilling or unable to offer a room with two beds, or may charge more, and there is no way to know in advance.

If you are okay with the risk - and it is definitely a risk in NYC - of one bed, let us know and we would be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed. I would recommend considering HOTWIRE instead, where you can indicate the amount of people in your party, which ensures some form of bedding for your party.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
