Hello,

We are coming to New York Sept 29th. Leaving on a cruise on Saturday the first. We will have 4 rooms. Right now I have a reservation, that I can cancel with 24 hour notice, at he Holiday Inn Express, Madison Sq Gardens, for $225 per person per night. I'm a platinum member from my job. so there may be some benefits we may get because of my Platinum membership. I've been looking at the post for this time frame, and question if I am better to keep my current reservation. I've not seen any real good deals yet. I also went back and looked at the deals for this time frame last year. Anyone have any thoughts, on best way to go?

Thanks for your help,

Have a great 4th coming up.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

...$225 per person per night.
Is this actually per room per nite, or are you staying one person per room (so the rate is correct), or are you double occupancy and the rate is therefore $450/nite.

If you could get a 4* hotel for $20 more per nite, would this be considered 'better'... or are you looking for the same/higher quality and not paying any more than the above rate?

Please confirm and we'll advise accordingly.

Thank you very much. You help so many people. As you can see see spelling and grammer are not my best skills. Good thing I have other skills.

It should be $225 per room. As for a 4 for $20 more. We would be glad to pay the $20 more if we could see the benefit. A 4 generally has a bar, and resturant and maybe a bigger room. Do you agree? Or is there other benefits with a 4. The other advantage to the Express is the free breakfast. I'm not set in stone on the Express , just looking for a reason to consider a 4 .

Take care,

Sometimes, but not always... a hotel could receive a higher star rating vs. others simply based upon excellent levels of service, room appointments (not related to size), and other aspects. Unfortunately, for the post part, star ratings are subjective so there is a lot of room for interpretation.

HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Chelsea-MSG zone for $243/nite with just Business and Internet icons. A 4* property has not yet been reported to the board with this amenity set, but the Hotel Indigo has been seen with this amenity set but at the 3.5* level... it may have been upgraded since last reported and that would be my guess for this one.

I'm also seeing what i believe to be the Roosevelt (MTE) and the Hudson Hotel (CPS) for just about what you're paying now for the Holiday Inn Express so don't see any advantage of changing for the same price.

If you want to try bidding on PRICELINE, what star rating would you like to try for and how much of a savings would you need over your $225 current Holiday Inn Express reservation?

Thank you again, I always use the link here to bid on PRICELINE and check HOTWIRE, this is a great service for all. And connecting in the link is a good way to promote it.

Enjoy the summer it's hot here in Georgia.

Thanks, I had not thought about the icons on HOTWIRE , I will look into it. And maybe look at other areas. I've still got time to look around.
