Priceline Hotel: Possible first time bidder on priceline

so, I am wanting to go to vegas for a few days at the end of the month for the UFC fight. I have been to vegas many times and usually always book directly through the hotel, and mainly stay at Flamingo. This year however my comps are not nearly as good, for the same weekend last july I only paid $200 and now it is way more.

I was thinking of bidding for a 4 star hotel or better on priceline, maybe starting at $50 a night.

1st question - it is 10 days away so I was wondering if they would be more likely to accept a lower offer such as that. I'd realistically pay up to $65-$70 per night. Does this seem reasonable

2nd question - I am very nervous about being put off strip(the phrase south strip "vicinity" scares me) or too far north. basically from all the 4 star strip hotels I would not mind staying it would be TI,PH,Mirage,Paris,MGM,Monte Carlo, or NY NY. i really would not want to be stuck farther north than TI/Wynn or anywhere off strip. What are the odds if I did get a succesful bid, it would be at one of those places(by narrowing the bid to north strip - south strip)

any advice or thoughts would be appreciated!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages.

If you decide to bid on PRICELINE i would avoid the Strip South zone since you could land the 'known' Westin which is within the zone but located off-strip. The Strip North zone should be ok at the 4* level, but no guarantees... the hotel you receive can be anywhere within the zone. If you want more assurance HOTWIRE would be a better option since you can take a guess as to the hotel you will receive based upon the amenities shown before your purchase (although still no guarantees)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Yes the Westin is the one which scares me on the south strip zone. I would be fine anywhere else that I can see on there. As far as the north strip 4* or higher, I dont know what else there is much north of TI or Wynn(I'd be fine with them, Venetian, Caesers or Mirage) that would even be a 4* or better hotel. I know I have read some people say they would dread the trump, but is that even on the strip? I dont remember if it is or not? Honestly I would be fine w 3* places such as Harrahs, Ballys, or Flamingo...but I am scared of getting Imperial Palace.

And yes, I will be sure to bid using the PRICELINE link from the forum when I make the desicion. Hopefully I get a lil more feedback before hand.

You can see all hotels reported to the board in each zone in the Priceline Hotel List... however, be sure to read the comments at the top of the hotel list pertaining to new hotels being added and star level changes.

Let us know how we can be of further help.

Thanks in advance for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your bidding/purchases.

Didn't want to clog up the board with another thread, but are the "safe rebids" if I want a 4* north strip (TI & Mirage) hotel:

- Boulder

- NW Las Vegas
