robotxl1 Posted June 19, 2011 Report Posted June 19, 2011 I've been bidding for almost a week ranging from $45-$55 and still no success. I'm guessing this is b/c it's near the holiday? It's 3 nights and I need 2 rooms so I thought it might be easier but still no accepted offer. How high should I go? Any other suggestions for other areas? I wanted to avoid downtown Portland (for parking fees) and the airport (noise) and someone suggestion Lake Oswego/Tigard b/c it's mainly residential and relatively quite.

robotxl1 Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Posted June 20, 2011 i guess that could be a last resort. on priceline holiday in express is only 2.5 stars. i think if that's the case i would try to bid lower than the $55. i checked out their website and the hotel looks decent enough and the reviews are not bad for a 2.5star hotel. thanks for the suggestion!

robotxl1 Posted June 20, 2011 Author Report Posted June 20, 2011 i've tried $60 for 3star and $40 for 2.5 star and no bite. i'll try again in 24hrs! i checked out the 2.5 star hotels on priceline and they appear to be okay. there's one that i'm not that excited about hence the lower bid price in case i ended up with that one. is there any strategy with regards to how early to bid before the travel date or closer the better?....
thereuare Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 is there any strategy with regards to how early to bid before the travel date or closer the better?....See the related Bid Early or Close to Check-in link in our PRICELINE FAQ. However, with just 10 days to go before your check-in, i think you're close enough that i don't think strategically waiting will have too much of an effect. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Keep us updated and good luck on your next round of bidding.
