Hotwire Hotel: Stars

Searching for hotel in Idaho Falls,ID on Hotwire show 3 1/2 star hotel.No other sites show any 3 1/2 star property.Cross ref on Hotwire hotel/car and it shows no 3 1/2 star hotel. Any ideas ?

This property has not yet been reported to the board, but my best guess would be the Best Western CottonTree Inn.

At best, Best Western Cottontree Inn is a 2.5. Is this common for Hotwire to bump properties to a higher rating

Unfortunately there is no universal star rating system in the hotel industry, and star ratings can differ from one service to the next... which can also differ from your own opinion.

Note that the Best Western Cottontree was my guess, so HOTWIRE may very well rate this property less than 3.5* (or even less then 3*)... but Travelocity rates this property 3.5* and Orbitz rates it 3*, so if the above is the Best Western, HOTWIRE's rating isn't far off from others in the industry.
