Trying for 2 rooms, bids as follows:

Orlando, July 20 - 23 Lake Buena Vista 3.5 * $47.- rejected

added Seaworld - I Drive $49.- rejected

added Maingate Celebration $51.- rejected

Miami, July 23 - 26 Miami Airport 3.5 * $50.- rejected

added Coral Gables / Coconut Grove $55.- rejected

added North Miami to rebid $60.- rejected

I decided Fort Lauderdale is a very nice place to stay as well:

Ft Lauderdale July 23 - 26 West Ft Lauderdale Plantation $57.- rejected

added Ft Lauderdale Beach $59.- rejected

added Downtown Ft.Lauderdale $61.- rejected

Drinking beer while bidding on Priceline is now one of my hobbies. :)

There's no doubt, it is getting tougher in Orlando. My trip is still eight weeks off, so I am going to cool it for a little while before I try some more bidding. My hope is that maybe some hotels will experience a high level of cancellations or otherwise become more willing to consider a cheapskate like myself. It is mostly my own fault for going in high season this year; generally I go closer to the end of August, when the school year has already started in many places and so it is a little tougher to fill rooms. There's no way I will bid into the 50s, though. Might be time to give HOTWIRE a try.

dutchtoo,

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Sorry to hear your bids have thus far been unsuccessful.

Please stick with the board format of only one stay per thread... we'll use this thread for your first stay of July 20 - 23, feel free to start a NEW TOPIC for your July 23-26 stay.

For July 20-23, what is your maximum bid for this stay? Also, are you familiar with re-bidding? (see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, but if you're new to the topic it's highly recommended that you ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

It depends on the star level, for the 3.5 star in Orlando, maybe would go up to $60.- A 4 * or resort maybe a little more.

If you're Dutch you don't pay much. I saw the Rosen Inn that was mentioned in another post on Kayak for $56,- but rated as a 3 star.

I'm thinking on booking that with a refundable reservation as a back up.

I saw a 4.5* resort in Maingate - Celebration on HOTWIRE for $79.-, tried to go after it on PRICELINE with this result.

Wasn't sure if it was Gaylord Palms or Omni, turned out to be Omni.

I'm happy with it, looking forward to the lazy river.

Started with $66.-

added zone for rebid $70.- got counteroffer for $20.- more

Went up to $72.- and got it.

Used BB HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links.

Thank you BB!

Don't know what would have happened in Hotwire, used Priceline and ended up with Omni Championsgate at $72.-

I think would have been same on Hotwire? But I suppose you can't be sure.
