thereuare Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you start by entering Toronto into the search box on the top right corner of the above you'll see the zones for this area... are both the Downtown North and Downtown South zones acceptable? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* or 3.5* hotel (assuming still within your budget) vs. a 3* hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Romelle Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Mark29,If you enter 'toronto' in the Quick Search box straight above, you will see lots of bidding reports from other members. Reading through some of those will probably give you some ideas and make you more comfortable with the process. Also, if you use the Calendar of Wins - center of page - entering your dates and selecting Canada - Priceline (and Canada - Hotwire too if you are interested), you will see if any other bidders have had success on your exact dates.Romelle
Mark29 Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 hey thanks for the helpi went through the win calendar and the prices seem to vary quite a bitdo you suggest i start bidding with a 3* or a 4* firstinitially i was going to bid 70$ because i do not have much time
Romelle Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 The star level you want is pretty much up to your budget and tastes. Prices are very date specific - raising for events, holidays, ?? For the record, US and Canada 3* are usually quite nice, whereas they are a riskier bid in Europe. I recently bid and won a couple 2 and 2.5* hotels in New Mexico (highest star level available in the small towns I was visiting). Even they were also quite fine - Holiday Inn Express and Springhill Suites. If you start with 4*, you can continue bidding the same day by adding a lower star level. If you start with 3*, the higher star levels are assumed. While it isn't likely, Priceline has the option of "upgrading" you to a higher star level. If you answer the questions thereuare asked in his post, he can suggest a bidding strategy for you.
