kokowu Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Tried Empire State region first and had no luck. Added Midtown East later and got a deal at $180. Called the hotel and our reserved rooms are "cozy room" which is only 170sq. Need to pay additional $50 to upgrade for kingsize bed, which I refused. Got a deal at $130 for Affinia Shelburne with double size rooms around the same season last room. Ugh!!!Used the PRICELINE link from the board.
thereuare Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Sorry to see you're not happy with the room size, but hopefully this property and location will work well for your needs. You can always try again for an upgrade again at check-in, and if refused, try negotiating the $50/nite downward to perhaps a more acceptable level. One upside is that this property is near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
