fairway Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Tried bidding for multiple sizes and prices on PRICELINE over several days. $22 for company, economy and standard were all rejected.HOTWIRE was offering $21.95 for a compact when I checked on 6/12. Came back on 6/14 and the price was down to $19.95 so I took it. They also had Economy car at a dollar less per day. I considered taking this based on my experience that reserved Economy cars are often given out as Compact cars, but I didn't want to risk that because I figured I might need the slightly extra horsepower in the mountains. I could be completely mistaken about this.Total costs: Hotwire hot Rate: $19.95 Rental days: 12 Taxes and fees: $113.45 Subtotal: $352.85 Trip total: $352.85 Used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on Better Bidding.
