AaronJB Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The 4.5* is a possible match for the Intercontinental or Conrad (although I'd guess the former is more likely than the latter) and the 4* NMA is a possible match for the Whitehall.A few other ideas:Expedia has the Hyatt for $169 per night - there is an option that notes "Welcome Credit - $125 per stay." There is also a note on Expedia for a $50 gas card (it is mailed after your stay - see website for details.) Plus, last but not least, coupon code BRIGHT11 takes $10 off per night. Make sure you choose the $125 welcome credit option in this case. See Expedia for the fine print. If you're driving, the James is $161 (plus BRIGHT11 coupon $10 off - $151), plus free parking is designated, plus free $50 gas card.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches.
GarryW Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 I booked the Millenium Knickerbocker a while back on PRICELINE, and I have 3 guests.. and it seems they will only let me have one bed, so I am thinking about choosing another location.. I understand PL is nonrefundable..but thinking I have a friend who may take that other booking. Thanks for the pointers.
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 The Knickerbocker's reviews have improved since remodel - there have been a couple of instances though of the hotel not offering two beds to PRICELINE guests, and the service does not guarantee two beds. However, if you aren't able to transfer the reservation, then you could try to work something out with the hotel and pay an upgrade fee (usually diff between room w/1 and 2 beds), which would be cheaper than another booking. Please let us know what you decide and if you have any additional questions. Additionally, it would be greatly appreciated if you could post the details of the Knickerbocker win as a separate thread, as the information can help other users. Thanks.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Expedia links to start your purchases and searches.

GarryW Posted June 13, 2011 Author Report Posted June 13, 2011 Thanks for your help on the forum.. I will be visiting more often now.$141/night .. " 3 adults"7/3-7/6
AaronJB Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Good deal for this historic, well-located property. I'd also recommend checking out the pool, which is quite historic - it was built in 1929 and was one of the first public pools on a higher floor - considered a feat of engineering at the time.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
