Dead President Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 I noticed that someone got the Vdara for $130 yesterday. I tried this morning for 5*, South Strip, Area 9, 4 rooms at $130 and was rejected. A minute later Priceline said that they'd accept a bid of $165/room. I did not bite. Is there a chance that Priceline charges more for multiple rooms?? Yesterday I tried $105 and $120. At $165, I am not sure that it is worth it. Any tips would be appreciated.
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Rates vary significantly by date - even from day-to-day. If the other poster was bidding for different dates, your dates will quite possibly require a different bid and quite possibly will have different inventory/availability.What are your date/s of travel?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Dead President Posted June 12, 2011 Author Report Posted June 12, 2011 I was bummed that others got the 5 star Vdara for $130 (the dates are July 2-5 & different by one day), but the $150 price I got was good for the July 4th holiday weekend. I won't complain. I needed 4 rooms and couldn't get an accepted bid. This morning, I tried 2 rooms at a time. Not sure if it made a difference, but the deal is done, and most importantly, my wife is happy. Here is a history of my biddding (July 1-4, 3 nights):Sunday, June 12$150, 5 Star, 2 rooms, Area 7, South Strip, Accepted, Vdara. $150, 5 Star, 2 rooms, Area 7 & 9, North & South Strip, Accepted, Vdara. $140, 5 Star, 2 rooms, Area 9, South Strip, rejected. Priceline suggested I up my bid to $175Saturday, June 11$140, 5 Star, 4 rooms, Area 9 & 7, South Strip, North Strip, rejected. Priceline suggested I up my bid to $175$130, 5 Star, 4 rooms, Area 9 & 7, South Strip, North Strip, rejected.$140, 5 Star, 4 rooms, Area 9, South Strip, rejected. Priceline suggested I up my bid to $175!$130, 5 Star, 4 rooms, Area 9, South Strip, rejected. Priceline suggested I up my bid to $165!Thursday, June 9$120, 5 star, 4 rooms, Area 9, South Strip, rejected.$105, 5 star, 4 rooms, Area 9, South Strip, rejected. The 4 star Paris was going for $123 on Priceline, but I was worried about getting put in a smoking room. Thanks for the help. Betterbidding is awesome.
