Bob24 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 I started at $76 for a 3.5 star in the Country Club Plaza area since that is my preferred area to stay. When that wasn't accepted, I added the Crown Center area and dropped the bid to $61 knowing that 3.5 star properties go for around that price from time to time in that area. They "upgraded" me to a 4 star, the Hotel Phillips. I have stayed there twice before and the place is kind of dumpy. Certainly not a 4 star property. However, after my last visit, I gave them a thorough dressing down on TripAdvisor that included pictures of my sub par lodging. I was assured that things were going to be addressed. I guess we will see.I am not altogether unhappy with the hotel at the price and considering I do like the location. While the Westin and Hyatt (the other 4 stars in the Crown Center area) are nicer properties they are not right downtown in the Power and Light district like the Hotel Phillips. I used the PRICELINE link on this page.
