baijingma Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 Hi, would appreciate help here.1. Is there somewhere on Priceline.com where I can see a list of the actual hotels participating in Niagara Falls ON? Couldn't find a list....seems to me when I've bid on other cities, there was a list of the hotels.2. Am I bidding in US Dollars?3. Any advice re the 4* vs 3.5* category, considering the particular properties that have been awarded lately?thanks all
thereuare Posted June 5, 2011 Report Posted June 5, 2011 PRICELINE does not provide a list of participating hotels. You can see hotels which have been reported to the board in this Priceline Hotel List, but note the comments at the top of the hotel list that it only contains hotels reported to the board and there could be others and/or a hotel may have been downgraded/upgraded since it was last reported.Although you're bidding on a hotel in Canada, your bid is in US dollars. As far as 4* vs. 3* i'd start with the hotel list linked above and determine what it is that you're looking for from this stay (in terms of star rating vs. budget). What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. baijingma Posted June 12, 2011 Author Report Posted June 12, 2011 Bid as follows (all in one evening)BID 4* $65 rejected with offer of room if increased bid by $20 (I declined)BID 3.5*/4* $70 rejectedBID 3*/3.5*/4* $65 ACCEPTEDLooks like the room is currently retailing for $90, so we're pleased with the deal. The free breakfast (for 3 people) makes it a very much better deal than a 4* hotel would have been at $80 with our having to pay for breakfast.I used the BB link to PRICELINE for my bid. Thanks everyone for this helpful site. If anyone has tips about this Niagara Falls stay (with a 10-yr-old), restaurants, or this hotel in particular, I'd very much appreciate.
thereuare Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you're happy with the results and the deal you received. Most Courtyard properties don't offer free breakfast, and i don't see anything suggesting that this one does, so that's something you may want to double check on if you're counting on breakfast being included. Also, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, so you may want to call the hotel requesting a room with two beds and/or one which has a pullout sofabed or a rollaway brought into the room.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
