wk76 Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Hello, I am planning on taking my wife to chicago for our anniversary and wanted to get an idea of how much I should expect to pay for a 4 star hotel (on priceline) for July 16-18 (2 nights) and if I should stay in The Loop or N. Michigan Avn part of town. The wifey would like to walk around and do some shopping and of course do plenty of eating so finding a hotel that is close to all the stores/restaurants and the metro would be ideal. Thanks for all your replies:)

wk76 Posted June 22, 2011 Author Report Posted June 22, 2011 Hi, first trip to Chicago. Taking the wifey for our anniversary. Planning on visiting either Sept 17-19 or Sept 24-26 (Sat-Mon) for 2 nights. Thinking of catching a cubs game so Sept 17th would be the weekend. Looking for either N.. Mich Avn or The Loop district as we'd like to stay somewhere in perfect walking distance to most of the sights and sounds. Wife would like to do a little shopping along Mich Avn and I'd like to hop on the metro to visit various restaurants (deep dish, steak, wrigley field district). Any ideas on deals I can get for a 4* hotel would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to our trip!

wk76 Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Hello, will be visiting between 9/24-9/26 and am starting to look for hotel deals but all the 4* hotels appear to be in the $250+ range. Was hoping to find something in the low $100's but doesn't look like that's going to happen unless I get lucky on Priceline. I've been looking at deals on travelzoo.com to see if I can find a place somewhere between central loop and the river so that i'm in walking distance between the loop sightseeing and the shopping/restaurants on N. Mich Avng. What price range can I expect for these dates for 4* hotel on priceline? Appreciate your time.

wk76 Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 Have not found a deal for 9/24-9/26 thus far. Not sure if I should start submitting bids in priceline now or wait another month. Also trying to find online deals for $100-$150 price range for a 4* in Loop/N. Mich Avn (in the middle close to the river and walking distance to shops/sightseeing). Is $150 rate reasonable for this time of month and location? Thanks.
