Priceline Hotel: 4* Chicago (Millennium Park-Loop-Grant Park) - Busy Dates?

I read in another thread that a certain time in the next couple weeks is supposed to be a very busy area in this region. We're looking at booking from 6/19-6/22 but haven't had any luck with 4* up to $75 now. We can keep increasing, but was hoping for advice on whether this was expected to be a very busy time. We can drop to 3.5* as well, but just wanted a feel for how full hotels were expected to be during this time.

Thanks

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

This isn't a terribly busy period overall, but it looks like the MP-Loop-GP area is more expensive than the NMA-River North area. My guess is that you're probably looking at $90-105 for a 4* in the River North-NMA area (I'd start at $80 and bid up by $5's if not accepted ($80, $85 if $80 doesn't go, etc) Would the NMA-River North area be okay or are you primarily looking to stay in the Loop? The burbs would be even cheaper if you're driving, but it would mean taking the Metra train in.

Given the prices I'm seeing on HOTWIRE and elsewhere, the River North-NMA area would appear to be cheaper in this case; possibly a convention happening filling rooms first in the Loop area (which would be closer to the convention center?)
