Priceline Hotel: Failed Bids Seattle 4* 7/15/2011 to 7/17/2011

Failed bids (for 10 days in a row) for the following criteria at Priceline:

Seattle, WA / 4* / 7/15/2011 to 7/17/2011

First, used the Seattle Downtown - Pike Place area, bidding $99. Failed.

Second, added Seattle Center - Space Needle, bidding $119. Failed.

Third, added Bothell, bidding $139. Failed.

Hope persistence pays off, or should I add 3.5*? Want a decent place, not a dive.

What would be your desired budget per night? Unfortunately, these dates appear expensive, with the only Downtown-Pike Place listing on HOTWIRE is a 3* for $167.

I had a hard time booking the dates 7/12 thru 7/16. Got impatient and booked on hotwire. If I had to do it all over again, I would start my Seattle PRICELINE bids at $150 for a 4* DT and work up from there - perhaps you would score something before hitting $160. For myself, the research and indicators seemed tricky to get a deal for July in Seattle. Maybe that will all change in a week or so, but I didn't take that chance and booked a stay on HOTWIRE for $159 at the Westin.
