llarson Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 I was bidding on any resort in Miami for July 28-31, 2005. I started bidding $70 with Miami Beach and then added South Beach, and then added Key Biscayne, raising my bid $3 each time. Once I had all three areas which offer resorts, I raised my bid $2 for each free re-bid. On my 11th free re-bid I got the Sheraton Bal Harbour for $92. You need to use the advanced free re-bid process (start new bids each time) to do it this way, otherwise you'll run out of re-bid attempts. Check-In Date: Thu, Jul 28, 2005 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Jul 31, 2005 Your Offer Price: $92.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $276.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $47.30 Total Charges: $323.30 I knew I was getting close once it stopped complaining about my bid being too low and started giving me counter-offers. With so many zones in Miami without resorts you can probably bid around 45 times without having to wait the 72 hours, so you can get away with low-balling and re-bidding small increments.I hope this is helpful to someone.
