MikeBoa Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 ok ,sorry, did do link. price now $185 though. looks like better deal on the 3.5* in same Times Square area. prices & hotel * levels available here are really jumping around lately. :)
thereuare Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 I'm not sure i entirely understand your last post, but the 3* Times Square property above has not yet been reported to the board... but i think you can do better if you're willing to stay anywhere in Midtown. Do you need to stay in Times Square? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MikeBoa Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 It's actually for my girlfriend & they prefer that area, though I'll take midtown into account for them. I'd checked the board for this, & funny no one else had ever inquired on it lately. Guess it's too hard to guess by the *s & amenities?
thereuare Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 You/she should read our thoughts on Hotels Near Times Square. If she will be making the purchase herself, please ask her to stop by here first and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin her purchase/bidding (she can click either of the logos in the search box at the top of the page)Thanks. MikeBoa Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 Thanks much for the info, & I'll make sure she uses your link if they go thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE.The main factor for this area for them is that they want to see a Broadway show or 2. If the midtown deals are better though, then they probably should consider that as they'll also be doing some touring.
thereuare Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 The 3* Times Square property has a 65% approval rating by previous HOTWIRE guests... this isn't really that higher. I would stick with something which is still centrally located but better reviewed and higher rated.Once you find out if they're willing to stay outside of Times Square let us know their maximum budget per nite and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MikeBoa Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 Got the Ok to look elsewhere, so Empire State building area, Midtown East, or maybe even Midtown Central? They're flying into Laguardia if that helps. Thanks again!
thereuare Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 What is the the maximum bid and minimum star rating for this stay? Are they willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is the goal the least expensive property at the minimum star level decided upon? Why not have your girlfriend post to this thread??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. MikeBoa Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 Looking for about $200/nt total or less. After checking these areas on Hotwire, I'd say a 4* as they all have that rate for 4*. Question is, which area is best hotel deal? Leaning toward Midtown East.My GF is pretty much a Luddite-ette. :) I've used your board before to purchase through HOTWIRE - last was in Feb for the Marenas in Sunny Isles/Miami Beach.
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 What area may be the best depends on the days, but generally, Times Square tends to be the most expensive, while ESB and MTE are generally more reasonable (by comparison.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
