duhitselaine Posted May 19, 2011 Report Posted May 19, 2011 Hi! I'm looking to bid on 4* hotel for New Orleans, the 4th weekend of June but I'm not sure which area would be better to bid (ie. safe for first time travelers, close to attractions, parking, etc) on and also didn't see it anywhere. I'll be in town for a weeklong seminar and playing some personal time to browse over the weekend. Thanks, E :)

duhitselaine Posted May 20, 2011 Author Report Posted May 20, 2011 Actual date of travel for the hotel 06/24-06/26. And my budget is $200 for hotel. We are in our mid 20's and may consider renting a car to get around town to explore.
thereuare Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 To clarify... is that $200 per nite or total for the two nites? Also, unless yo intend to go far outside of the Downtown or French Quarter area you really don't want/need a car as you can usually walk most places within the Downtown/FQ area and hotel parking in very expensive. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. duhitselaine Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 that is $200 for both nights. just trying to see which area in new orleans would be ideal for first time travelers to sight see, food, etc. i was only thinking of a car rental in case we need to get somewhere further. but if not, then that would be great also.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Rates are currently high for these dates and $200 total for both nites is not going to be realistic for a 4* hotel in a 'central' location. Have you checked rates thru conventional booking channels... what is the best rate you're able to find at a 4* hotel thru traditional booking sources? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. duhitselaine Posted May 23, 2011 Author Report Posted May 23, 2011 Will do - it looks like its more ideal to stay either downtown or french quarter (from my research), is this correct?
AaronJB Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Those two areas are the most commonly bid for/core areas.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
