rausda27
We received an email today from Hotwire that this is no longer an Intercontinental property. I called customer service to see if we could re-bid, due to the fact that isnt the original brand we thought. They refused. We are not happy with Hotwire right now. Link to comment
thereuare
This property changed from the 'Inter-Continental Montelucia' to the 'Montelucia Resort and Spa' and i suspect not much has changed in the transition... the grounds, services, staff, etc. are likely all the same. Is there an amenity missing under the new flag that you were seeking or something in particular that made you want the Inter-Continental brand attached to this property? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. rausda27
Things may be the same, however, we would be upset if we stay at the resort and it doesn't adhere to the standards held by Inter-Continental. We will have to see what happens, but wouldn't you be suspect if a major 5 star brand like Inter-Continental dropped their name off the resort?I did notice they raised the daily resort fee. I will call to see if it covers the same things. Link to comment

They could be sold for financial reasons (they received an offer they couldn't refuse) and/or the property could have been part of a larger block of properties which were sold/exchanged for a different package of properties.Hope your stay goes as well as you previously expected.
