adm11 Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Hello,I need help with 2 rooms 3* and up, for NY 6/14-6/15. I am familiar with the way priceline works and had some successful bidding in the past, but my max budget is around $150/room and I don't seem to be able to get 2 rooms for my budget. This would be our first time in NY and I was looking at ESB, CPS, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS, DT, Chelsea, HK. Can you suggest a strategy?
AaronJB Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, this is a tough/busy period in the city, and hotels are quite expensive. What bids have you made so far? Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
adm11 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Your site is a great source of information! So far I tried up to $165 and got rejected.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 How high are you willing to go for a 3*... based upon current prices i'm guessing you'll need to be ~$200 (give or take) to be successful at the moment. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. adm11 Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 I would go up to $170 as it adds up fast with taxes for 2 rooms. Thank you for your help!
thereuare Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 If you're last rejected bid was at the 3* level and at $165, you're not leaving yourself much margin for success with a maximum bid of just $5 more.If you want to give it a try, at the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* ESB, CPS, MSG, MTE, MTW...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* TS, DT, Chelsea, HK...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* ESB, DT, MSG, MTE, MTW...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* TS, CPS, Chelsea, HK...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* ESB, CPS, Chelsea, MTE, MTW...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* TS, DT, MSG, HK...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* ESB, CPS, MSG, HK, MTW...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* TS, DT, Chelsea, MTE...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* ESB, CPS, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS, DT, Chelsea, HK...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
