sthomasa Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I always use the BB link. This time I'm having a problem. At over winning bids on Priceline, I'm looking at hotwire offer.Anyone nail this one? I stayed at the Pan Pacific and if I was sure, price is high but great hotel.5-star Hotel in Downtown Vancouver WestThis Hotel features the following amenities:Fitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessSpa ServicesAlso does bidding for two rooms make the computer think "Ha ha! A family. Higher price."
sthomasa Posted June 6, 2011 Author Report Posted June 6, 2011 Also,When I bid for one room, I have more choices than when I bid for two rooms.Anyone every use two computers and two user accounts to close two rooms at the same time? I doubt if there is only ONE room avaiable?
thereuare Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I doubt if there is only ONE room avaiable?Don't be so sure... we have seen similar situations where there was indeed only one room available. As well, we have seen where the first room is purchased and then there the was no problem booking a second room.Anyone every use two computers and two user accounts to close two rooms at the same time? There is no point in using two computers... if there is only one room available, the same hotel will appear on a search on each computer (since there is inventory of '1' showing when each search is made). If you then try to purchase both 'simultaneously' one will go thru and the other will come back as 'no longer available'.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. sthomasa Posted June 8, 2011 Author Report Posted June 8, 2011 Couldn't get options on two nights for two rooms. 5* Vancouver (Downtown West) Pan Pacific , $133 ... two rooms 6-15-11 to 6/16/11I needed two nights but was offered the second night for 308.00Now trying to get the second night at a better price. Thanks! I used the link.
AaronJB Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very good result for this 5* property; please let us know what you decide for the additional night. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
sthomasa Posted June 8, 2011 Author Report Posted June 8, 2011 I was going for the 5* condo but moving even a half mile is such a hassle. I was able to get second night at over double... 270.00 with an AAA discount and cancellation rights. Can the "customer satifaction" %s be relied on to determine hotel? The Pan Pacific has 90% while the 5* one being shown now says, "Still gathering comments" I'm assumign that was the Sutton...the other 5*
thereuare Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Can the "customer satifaction" %s be relied on to determine hotel?No... we have seen this number change slightly from search-to-search and even disappear entirely, reverting to the 'still gathering' message, all for the same hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
