abcdeff Posted June 6, 2011 Author Report Posted June 6, 2011 Hi, I have already done what was instructed. Please advise.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay?Note that around 5th Ave is the CPS zone, which at less than 4*, contains the Hudson Hotel which has notoriously small rooms... would this be acceptable?Just how close do you need to be to 5th Ave shopping... could you take a 10 minute subway ride? A 20 minute walk? If you go to PRICELINE and look at the zones and their boundaries, are you familiar enough with the city to determine which zones would meet your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. abcdeff Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Hi,Thank you for your help. My overall goal is have least expensive hotel with equivalent star preferably 3*, but 2* would be acceptable if the hotels' conditions are not too bad. I would prefer to have everything within walking distance, hopefully.Thank you, please advise.
thereuare Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 My overall goal is have least expensive hotel with equivalent star preferably 3*, but 2* would be acceptable if the hotels' conditions are not too bad. You're buying a hotel "sight unseen" so you don't really know how the conditions will be. While there may be some lower rated hotels which suit your needs just fine, there may be others which do not, and with PRICELINE / HOTWIRE you can't choose which type you will get. This is why we typically recommend that users stick with the higher rated hotels in NYC (where quality can vary greatly from property to property)I would prefer to have everything within walking distance, hopefully.NYC is compact, but geographically large, and it's not feasible to be within walking distance of 'everything' unless you only intend to stay in one area of the city, which i don't recommend, as you should try to explore the different neighborhoods within of the city. As you know your plans better then we do, if you look at the PRICELINE map of this region (enter 'nyc' into the search box on the top right of this page), which zones do you think would be most convenient for your plans and in which you could accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
