Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Chicago (Magnificent Mile-Streeterville) Doubletree Mag Mile

Booked on 6/2/11.

Now trying to find hotels for 7/7/11-7/10/11 in the same area (of course using the HOTWIRE link through Better Bidding. I decided to break it up as the same hotel was listed for both time frames, and i figured i'd try to find out which is was first, then book the rest of the nights we'd be there. Although as soon as i booked for the 2 nights, the listing for the adjoining nights disappeared. Guess its a newbie mistake. Is this typical? Maybe trying to prevent people from doing what i am doing? (ie: checking hotel and then bidding the rest?)

I orginally tried bidding via Priceline, but was going higher than the listings on Hotwire. My experience in the past has been Priceline is cheaper, although you have less information, so a bit more of a gamble. I've never used Hotwire until today, but have checked it in the past before buying via Priceline.

Now looking at thiese on Hotwire and trying to figure out what they are, for 7/7/11-7/10/11:

3* Mag Mile-Streeterville $108

Fitness

Pool

Restaurant

Business Center

Laundry

High Speed Internet Access

90% recommended

My guess is either Sheraton Four Points or Holiday Inn Mart Plaza.

4* NMA-Gold Coast $115

Smoke-Free

Fitness

Restaurant

Business Center

High Speed Internet Access

80% recommended

My guess is Westin Michigan Ave.

Are my guesses accurate or does anyone have any other possibilites?

Not typical, but it does happen form time-to-time... various explanations for why it occurred, but i don't think HOTWIRE not wanting to sell you the same hotel for this leg of the stay is one of them.
