Glad to see you received a nice deal for this stay and hopefully this property is convenient to your conference.

Not a 'hidden gem' by any means, but if your budget/expense account allows and you're a steak fan Peter Luger is regarded as one of the top steakhouses in the country. (NOTE: cash only... or their own credit card). If out of your budget they apparently have a decent lunch too where burgers (and perhaps some other menu items) are more reasonably priced.

Thanks. This is a preferred hotel for the conference but still better than the group rate offered ($170). I'm pleased.

Hubby is the carnivore, will add Luger to the list, thanks for the rec!
