letsgetsilly Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Hello,I'm new to priceline and these forums. I just performed a series of bids for 4 rooms in Downtown Vancouver on 8/20/2011, which is a Saturday. I used the free bid technique exactly like the user in this winning priceline bid thread did in order to rebid on Downtown Vancouver:I started at $80 and was able to reach $100 bid on 4* hotel in Vancouver for a Saturday night and get denied. I'm planning on performing additional bidding tomorrow in order to go from $100 to $120 using the same free rebidding technique.I am wondering if I am going about this in the correct way, or if there is anything special I should be aware of regarding bidding frequently over 2 days, bidding on a Saturday night, and noticing how the HOTWIRE price for a 4* hotel on the same date and roughly the same area (Downtown-West vs Downltown) is priced at about $123.Thanks for any tips in advance!

letsgetsilly Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 I've managed to get up to $120 in Vancouver without any luck. After doing more research my concerns about getting a good deal on a hotel are as follows:1) There's a deal on Hotwire for 4* for what (I believe) to be the Mariott Pinnacle in Downtown, yet I've reached $120 on priceline without any luck.2) I'm worried that I'm bidding too far out for this hotel.Any feedback on my technique is appreciated.Yes I'm using the PRICELINE link located on this forum. Thanks!
