trevdog Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Hi All- longtime lurker - for the 3.5* Pike Place area, I have been scoping Hotwire for 6/26-6/28.I have observed two different profiles *BUT SAME AMENITY SETS* coming up, depending upon the day. Both have:Smoke FreeFitness CenterRestaurantBusiness CenterHigh Speed Internet AccessHowever Option #1 has 85% recommended, 500+ reviews, but 4.5* as to location;Option #2 has 95% recommended, 300+ reviews, but only 3.5* as to location.I think Option #1 is Mayflower Park; #2 is Silver Cloud Broadway (?) due to most travelers preference for Pike Place Market district. However, two posts below in this thread (april and May arrivals) both stated that Mayflower park had 95% in reviews. Have I got them backwards ?Need Mayflower park to walk the Pike Place area (And I WILL use the HOTWIRE link to book). Thanks.
thereuare Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Welcoem to BetterBidding! You can't really put too much credence into the HOTWIRE recommendation percentages as we've seen them change from one search to the next, and even revert to 'still gathering information', for the same hotel. If you simply need a decent location, and not necessarily the Mayflower, then i would feel 'relatively' safe purchasing a hotel with a 4.5/5.0 for location... but there would still be a risk involved. While the stadium is a bit far from Pike Place, Seattle is relatively small geographically and you can still make most locations work given the city's "free ride area" on the buses from 6am-7pm daily (NOTE: some parts of the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE zones are outside of the free ride area, which is why i mention purchasing a property with a high location rating, and that there is still a risk involved). Even if the hotel you receive is outside of the free ride zone, you can usually walk to a location within the free ride boundaries. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. trevdog Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Thanks. Recent trends seem to suggest it's Silver Cloud or Mayflower. - can anyone that has booked, including the recent SCB reservation, confirm the Hotwire star rating for location ?BTW- if it makes any difference, i am searching for 3 rooms in this reservation.
trevdog Posted June 2, 2011 Author Report Posted June 2, 2011 Booked tonight using HOTWIRE link. Crowne Plaza. Pleased with location.
