foxo Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Book thorugh the PRICELINE link of the site.Started from $100, ended up with the Westin on Magnificent Mile.Read a few negative reviews on tripadvisor, preying not to experience the same for my trip...
thereuare Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 Congratulations on your success!Hopefully the negative reviews are mostly coming from guests who paid a lot more for their rooms and had lofty expectations.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay... hope it goes much better then you anticipate. AaronJB Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 This property is in an exceptional location right off Michigan Ave; I didn't find the hotel to be without some issues, but these are issues that didn't have much of an effect on the stay and are things that the hotel could not do much about without a significant renovation - the outside of the property could use some work and the lobby is small/narrow. The property is could use a renovation to freshen it up, but as is, it's a nice downtown 4*. Don't take the Michigan Ave. view upgrade if they mention it.
foxo Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Thanks to thereuare and AaronJB!I agree on its unbeatable location. And hopefully a lower expectation will make my stay more satisfying. What was the reason not to take the upgrade offer? The view did not worth the money?
AaronJB Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 I guess I expected the "Michigan Ave" view to be a view down Michigan Ave. towards the river. The room I got had a view of the nearby patch of Michigan Ave, but was otherwise blocked by the Hancock.
