milkfacebstrd2 Posted May 31, 2011 Report Posted May 31, 2011 - Just got home, from one night stay, in Hershey/Lancaster area. 3* Hotel with 95% favorable reviews was the Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg, on Portion Rd. .. Would I stay again, Yes. It was only a quick 15 min from Hershey and based on what i could get a room for in Lancaster or Hershey, it was a great bargain. Hotel was packed, with families and understaffed. AC was very poor in common areas and ice machines did not work. When inquired, Maintenance Man was off premises, was the answer i got. When it came to breakfast, which would have been good, if someone anticipated the bookings. They extend breakfast hours, on the weekend, but not on a holiday. (Memorial Day) There was no sign of Management, anywhere. Just a desk clerk and a breakfast bar person, who were overwhelmed. Besides that everything was fine..... good proximity to dining options as well.
