Leighgate Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Hi,I love this site.5/14/05 I tried bidding on price line for 5* on strip for 5/27 fri and 5/28 sat.Started at 85 and it let me change price to 90 but would not let me change to 95.Since I can't bid more I am waiting 72 hours to try again I will try up to 130.I may try four stars next, where do I start bidding for the strip on these dates? Thanks everyone.Leighgate
thereuare Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Have you looked at the rates direct from the Venetian? They're currently over $400/nite for each of these dates, which means that you're not very likely to have an accepted bid near $150.Before bidding on 4* i would let us know your budget and we'll try to help you find a deal for these dates... the opaque providers often are not that great in this area for bidding less than 5* and better deals can often be had. I would also give our Las Vegas Rate Checker a try to get a quick overview of hotel-direct rates. Leighgate Posted May 17, 2005 Author Report Posted May 17, 2005 Hi,Thankyou! Whew, I will stop trying to make that work.I will post a new thread on 4*Leigh
Leighgate Posted May 17, 2005 Author Report Posted May 17, 2005 help 4* needed for 5/24 5/27 and 5/28 sat on Strip with shuttlehow about a 4* on a memorial wkend Fri + sat $90? I have an Entertainment Book, I tried getting the MGM, as mentioned in another thread, but the entertainment rate was $313. I tried getting the Belagio using the "spring is in bloom" phrase for their 160 promotion but they said it was not available. We will be coming from two nights at the Mirage for $109. Willing to try skyauction for Alexsis Park. The Entertainment Book will give 10% off any promo, or 50% off any rack rate. this is the same for The MGM. Thanks for your help.I hope to find a great deal to share. Leighgate
Leighgate Posted May 17, 2005 Author Report Posted May 17, 2005 Is bid for total hotel stay or just 1 dayOk I am stupid but I didn't see this explained on the price line page. Thanks Leighgate
ufjoe21 Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 You NAME YOUR OWN PRICE PER NIGHTbefore you click the button BUY MY HOTEL ROOMit will list your TOTAL CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD which includes each night's stay and taxes and fees, etc.
thereuare Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Keep all of your information for your 5/27-5/29 stay in this thread.I understand your need for 5/27-5/29... do you need a separate stay on 5/24?Why are you looking for a hotel with a shuttle?!?! I don't know of any hotels on the strip that offer free airport shuttle from the airport and at most maybe you're looking at a $12 cab ride.Have you seen anything even close to the $90 area for a 4* during Memorial Day weekend? I'm not sure your expectations are realistic. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Leighgate Posted May 18, 2005 Author Report Posted May 18, 2005 Probably very unrealistic. tried 120-140 Median price was 300, by picking new zones where I knew there were no 4 star hotels. Venecian was offered at $473Harrahs at $246 and Regency at $240. Hope that is helpful. My and my travel mate got hyped when we saw the rates fall about about 2 weeks ago. We weren't planning a long stay until we found out our plane tickets we got from listening for 4 hours of a timeshare presentation had us spending more time in airports then in VegasSo now we are dipping into our own pockets to fix things. We spent $100 to change the date on the tickets, and didn't think twice about landing in the middle of a holiday. Now I am searching for a place for 5/24 and for 5/27 and 5/58open to suggestionsLeighgate
thereuare Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Please keep all of your posts pertaining to 5/27-5/29 in this thread... start a new thread for 5/24 if you'd like help with that date as well.We have provided advice above and throughout this thread... but your bids seem to be a moving target. You stated that your maximum bid was $90 but then you just tried up to $160. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
