grace007 Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 Recently I placed and won a bid on Priceline for a 3* Hotel (Holiday Inn) for $75 a night (travel for 06/2-06/05) in the SeaWorld area.I later found out that the hotel was 'pet friendly' and did not have designated rooms where pets were not allowed (very allergic to pet dander). I called PRICELINE and they graciously refunded my payment (after 30 minutes on the phone and speaking with hotel manager).Question:I need a hotel of maybe 3* or 4*. How do I ensure that I will not get a pet friendly room? I'm now thinking of choosing a different area (Riverwalk) to hopefully avoid the same scenario.Any tips will be greatly appreciated! :)
thereuare Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages. You can't bid on a specific hotel when using PRICELINE, you have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for.So HOTWIRE would be the better option for you in this situation if you can reasonably guess the hotel offered, but there is still a risk involved. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
