lmrisl8 Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 I am new to this forum and have only used Priceline once before several years ago. Successfully too!For now, I am trying to book a hotel at Heathrow for the night before our departure; July 13th-14th.We are a family of 4, so I am bidding on 2 rooms.I prefer the 4*, but since this is just for a sleepover before leaving the 3* would be fine for a low price.I am willing to go to about $65 for the 4*, and about $45 for the 3* (Please tell me if I am totally out of touch with reality - it has been quite a while since we traveled to Europe.)I have other times to try booking, but thought this would get me started.I did link to PRICELINE via a link from this site, but I have a question about that. Should I have returned to this site and relinked to priceline to make the second bid or do you still get credit for the new bid? bid history 5/27/2011 priceline 2rms 7/13-7/14/2011 4* $51 rejected5/27/2011 priceline 2rms 7/13-7/14/2011 3* $34 rejectedI would love some bidding suggestions. Thanks
thereuare Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding!I think you have a chance at a 4* for $65, but based upon current prices my guess is that it may take just a bit more. However, to continue bidding, are you familiar with re-bidding... in the Heathrow area you do have ONE re-bid zones (none at the 3* level) See Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for more information and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zone with the board. We'll then suggest a strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your bidding. If you are bidding in the same session (by lowering your star rating or adding a zone) then you can just continue with the current bid... if you're bidding a few hours/days later, please return here and re-click our PRICELINE link once again. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
