David526 Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Hello! I just joined this (extremely informative) site for some help with Priceline bidding. I have bid many times in the past for other cities, but with no luck, ever.I am going to be in NYC from July 7-10, 2011 and do not want to stay anywhere but Times Square. I have been to NYC for the last 5 summers straight and have stayed at the Marriott Marquis each and every time. I LOVE this hotel.I do not want to pay the $400 rates on their website, so I need some help! I do not care what hotel I stay at this year. I would like the Marriott Marquis, but something comparable if not. I DO want to make sure I am in Times Square, though.Any advice on how to win a bid for a nice hotel in Times Sqaure?Am I dreaming when I say that I would like to pay around $175 a night? Thanks in advance!! :)
thereuare Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please start by reading your messages.Assuming you're ok with a hotel anywhere within PRICELINE's boundaries of "Times Square" i would bid as follows:At the 4* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Times Square...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Times Square and re-bid zone6...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone4...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone5...Bid $175Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. David526 Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Sure! I just logged into my HOTWIRE account and there were only 4 amenities listed:Boutique HotelSmoke Free Rooms Fitness CenterBusiness CenterSeems odd to just list these 4 because there are many many more, but that's all that was there!
AaronJB Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Given the opaque nature of HOTWIRE, not all amenities are listed. Thank you for the follow-up. :)
