caowei Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Hi there, this is my 1st time posting in Priceline and Hotwire Forum and I have a few questions about travel tips in orlando. Any help will be greatly appreciated. :) Our family <4 Adults-2Kids: 10 and 1 year old> is planning to travel to orlando, FL during July. We would like to go to disney world, universal studio and sea-world within a 8 days -period. Considering we'll go 3 different places, is it a good idea to rent a off-site 2 bedroom suites instead of staying in Disney's resort for the first few days then move to off-site hotels for the rest of the time?? If anybody had similar experience before, could you please provide some suggestions? thanks a lot
thereuare Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Welcome to BetterBidding! For starters, do you intend to only book one room? If so, PRICELINE / HOTWIRE may not be the best option for you since PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, while HOTWIRE has ways which allow you to ensure sleeping accommodations for quad occupancy. It appears you'll be six, which is more than most standard hotel rooms allow. How many rooms were you intending to get?In terms of where to stay, what would be the advantage of changing hotels... to save money when not attending the Disney? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. caowei Posted May 27, 2011 Author Report Posted May 27, 2011 Thanks for the information. I tried Priceline and hotwire. I have to book 2 rooms in Priceline, however, hotwire provides the villa(Caribe Cove Resort) option, and it turns out the villa costs less than 2 standard rooms from a hotel. I'll probably go with it if that's a good option. I never booked a villa, any information about it will be very helpful for me.For where to stay question, yes, I was thinking living off-site while not going to Disney may save a lot of budget, but changing hotels seems too complicated?thanks again
thereuare Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Note that although a 2BR suite HOTWIRE still only guarantees up to quad occupancy. I don't know the room configurations at this condo property, but while i suspect it will work out if you're flexible, you're still not ensured accommodations for six. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
