Priceline Hotel: need central NYC hotel 6/7-12

I wonder if there is something going on in Manhattan during my stay dates, 6/7-12. I am not seeing any hotels under $275.

I'd like to stay under $180 w/tax. Does anyone have any advice? It will be a first time trip for my college daughter and I and we will be visiting many of the normal NYC sights. While the Times Square area is an option, I was considering somewhere with more of an interesting neighborhood, restaurants, shops, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

I believe the Tony awards are happening that weekend. A few weeks ago, I tried bidding for June 6-11, but couldn't find anything for under $160+tax (minimum 3*). I ultimately broke up the trip to two 2-night stays and a 1-night stay in New Jersey. I got a priceline wining bid at the Sheraton Brooklyn for $130, and Astor on the Park for $125 (not through PRICELINE).

Exactly which zone(s), by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept?

Your $180 all-in amounts to about a $150 maximum bid, which based upon prices at the moment, doesn't seem very likely. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

I'd prefer MidWest, MidEast, Soho-Tribeca or Chelsea-Village. 3* would be fine. I hate to split and move around during my five nights but could

do 4 nights in the city and the final night near JFK before I fly out. Do you think that would give a better chance? Thanks!

Which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept. Also note that since the bolded areas you've indicated above are sub-sets of larger zones, you need to be willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone(s) you choose.

Probably not as its the beginning nites of your stay which are the more expensive, so dropping the last nite (which is on the weekend and less expensive) doesn't improve the situation. You can try, but i don't think it will help.
