thereuare Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 It appears that you may be using the 'retail' version of PRICELINE to determine your re-bid zones which is NOT what you want to do. You should be using the method discussed in this thread to determine your re-bid zones: Priceline Re-Bidding ExplainedIf you read the thread above and are still confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. When bidding 4* in this region you actually have 13 re-bid zones, confirm them with the board and let us know your maximum bid for this stay, we'll then advise further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dcnla Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Thank you thereuare!I wasn't catching on about step 3 in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained On the new Priceline page that opened when I entered the info in the Priceline box, I did list the zones in "Step 1: Choose where you want to stay" of the PL page. However, I didn't previously notice the star level lighting up in "Step 2: Choose the star level of your hotel" of the PL page concurrently with each zone checked off (Light bulb moment). I guess I was too busy looking at the map lighting up. As such I did list 13 re-bid zones as you stated. I increased my bids in $6 increments from my last unaccepted bid of $100 adding the different re-bid zones and got the 4* Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines at $124.Thank you again for the help. Now I should change my login to "A bit wiser" :)
dcnla Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Posted May 25, 2011 Using BetterBidding PRICELINE link,Started bid at $85 using $5 increments and $6 increments after $100. After some help identifying re-bid zones and the corresponding star levels (pay attention to star levels of Step 2 of PL page just below Step 1 when clicking each zone separately) . . . bid accepted at $124. Finally! :) Yeah! Pocket that $100+ savings from the other website(s) I used to use.TY thereuare!
