Priceline Hotel: 4* LA-San Fernando Valley (Burbank-Universal-Glendale) Hilton Glendale

I bid on a 3.5* to get the Universal Sheraton, and instead I got "upgraded" to the Glendale Hilton, which is nowhere where I wanted my family to stay and actually rather inconvenient. So I am a little irritated right now, because I'm probably out $200. Live and learn.

Sorry to see you didn't receive the hotel you were hoping for. As i'm sure you now know, the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, and PRICELINE upgraded your 3.5* to a 4* property. Not sure of your needs for this stay, but this zone is only about 5 miles wide, is there somehow you can make this work for your plans?

In the future if there is a hotel you're trying to target/avoid or only part of the zone you're willing to stay in, HOTWIRE can often be a better (although slightly more expensive) choice since you can take an educated guess as to the property being offered before your purchase.
