Juno Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I would like to go to Orlando next weekend with the kids and am up for suggestions regarding where to stay. I prefer not to go over $70/night and want something in the 3 star range and up. We love Lake Buena Vista, but wold settle for something further away (like the Peabody) if it can be gotten in the price range. The closer to the parks, the better unless the property is exceptional. I realize there are no guarantees on Priceline.Any ideas? :)
thereuare Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Plenty of re-bids available at the 3* and Resort levels. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask question and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. This is how i would bid:Select WDW and Resort....Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously. At the 3* level you have five re-bid zones available (again, if you're not sure of which ones they are feel free to ask/confirm):Select WDW and Resort....Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us now how it goes. Juno Posted May 15, 2005 Author Report Posted May 15, 2005 I had no luck :) I didn't go all the way up to $60 on the 3 star (stopped at $55) because there are better deals on Hotwire (such as Radisson).I will start a new thread on the hotwire forum as I am trying to identify a few hotels. Thanks!

dianev Posted May 15, 2005 Report Posted May 15, 2005 My opinion is the first one is the Radisson Worldgate and the 2nd is the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird (thereuare may think differently)My opinion having stayed at the Radisson is that its not so great unless a really good price and I have not heard great opinions about the Holiday Inn either :)

runNgun Posted May 16, 2005 Report Posted May 16, 2005 H.I. Nikki Bird is NOT in the Downtown Disney zone but the Champions Gate.
Juno Posted May 16, 2005 Author Report Posted May 16, 2005 Hi All and thanks for the help. I sent Thereuare a pm. I was getting very nervous about making a reservation (the Radisson listing dissapeared since this morning and I had also seen it on EasyClickTravel a few days ago for $58-now also gone). I ended up deciding that there was only 1 good hotel for location and value left and booked Country Inn Suites through EasyClickTravel. I really wish I could have done it on Priceline or Hotwire! Thanks so much. You guys are the best and this was a real learning experience. I think I will try and plan further in advance next time as this ended up being my downfall.
