as400guy Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Bids yesterday $71, $76, $81. All rejected.Bid today $75, came back with a "...are you willing to try a $95 bid?". In the interest of time, responded "yes" and got it.Was that message what is considered a counteroffer from Priceline? Could/would they have rejected it even if I did respond "yes"? Could I have bid less than $95 and gotten it, or would they have rejected anything less than $95?Regardless, I'm happy with a $95 3.5* room
AaronJB Posted May 22, 2011 Report Posted May 22, 2011 Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for this property. That is a counter-offer from the service; when presented with a counter-offer, if you jump to the suggested bid, then you are extremely likely to be successful. However, the required bid is very often somewhere in-between the counter-offer and the last rejected bid.Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
